为了满足ICP、ICP-MS极低的检测限需求提供实验室级超纯酸蒸馏装置，该装置采用调压器加热，使酸保持亚沸腾状态，再将其酸蒸气冷却的原理制备超纯酸。
该装置所用的容器均采用F4（聚四氟乙烯）和F46（聚全氟乙丙烯）耐腐蚀高纯氟塑料，因此可以处理硝酸、盐酸、氢氟酸等实验室的常用酸而不腐蚀,而这一特性不为石英亚沸腾蒸馏器所具有。
实验证明，将大部分金属杂质含量约10ppb的酸提纯，经过一次蒸馏后，金属杂质含量可以降低到1ppb左右，甚至更低。若对酸要求更高，可增加提纯次数。

亚沸蒸馏器是制备高纯试剂和高纯水的氟塑料仪器，它具有技术先进，结构合理，安装简单，操作方便，维修简便。亚沸蒸馏是利用加热套热辐射原理，保持液体温度低于沸点温度蒸发冷凝从而制备高纯水和高纯试剂，在进行测定（原子吸收光谱、气相色谱、同位素、电感藉合等离子发射光谱等）痕量元素及微量有机物时，是不可或缺的配套仪器设备。
